LONG STAY VISA AS SPOUSE OF FRENCH NATIONAL

A valid passport with at least two blank pages (meaning 1 leaf with back and front = 1 page). The passport expiry date must be of at least 1 year and 3 months

2. 1 Long stay visa application form with all relevant questions answered, dully filled in capital letters, dated and signed by the applicant.

3. 1 recent passport size photo (less than 6 months), sizing 3.5 x 4.5 cm

4. The visa application for spouses of French nationals is free of charge.

5. Your detailed travel itinerary (you do not need to buy the ticket before the your visa is delivered)

6. Proof of marriage:

Marriage celebrated in France or any of the French overseas territories:

• Copy of the marriage certificate of less than three (3) months

• The family book + copy

Marriage celebrated in another country:

• Copy of the transcription of the Marriage certificate (less than 3 months) on the French civil status Registries

• Family book + copy

7. Proof of nationality of the French spouse: Valid Passport or French ID Card

8. Written letter from the French spouse: dated and signed, describing the existence of the relationship before and after the marriage. He/She must express his/her desire for foreign spouse to join him/her to France

9. Proof of common life of the couple:

➢ If you have children together, provide their birth certificates

➢ Copies of any other recent document about the relationship before marriage

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

➢ Additional documents can be required depending on the type of visa you apply for and/or the purpose of the journey.

➢ The visa is neither extendable nor renewable

➢ Administrative fees are not refundable even if the visa is denied

➢ Applicant must provide photocopies of all original documents, which he/she may want in return since photocopies cannot be made at the French Embassy.
